What’s on offer

Four ways to be on the directory, and what each costs.

Free tells the island you exist. The full listing is your whole storefront. The illustrated one adds the photograph. A featured partner spot puts you above the list on a guide page. Whichever you choose, it is the same record in the same place, and all four start with the conversation above.

Already on the directory? Start the same conversation and give Amelia the business name. She will find you and pick up from there.

Measured since July

More than 2,000 people

have come to Amelia looking for something local.

Visits, not orders. When someone asks her for a bakery or a plumber, the listings are what she answers with.

Your name, what you do, your hours, and a tap to reach you. Give us your hours and your card says whether you are open right now. Amelia names you in her answers and your card shows on the island guide pages you belong on. A local checks every listing by hand, and once you confirm your own details the card says so.

  • The lit door. Your website as a button, or your phone if you would rather. Whichever one you do not light sits beside it and still works.
  • What you are best at. A few short phrases across the card: raw bar, daily boil, kids welcome.
  • Your words, curated. You tell us how you would put it and we set it under your name, in place of our description. It runs to three lines where a free card is cut at two.

One tap and they are on your own site, not stopped at the card.

$99 a year or $10 a month if you would rather spread it. The year is the cheaper of the two, and there is nothing to remember.

Or your free listing stays free and unchanged.

  • A photograph. Your own picture across the top of your card, the width of the card.
  • A button in your words. Book a table, Order ahead, Call for a quote. It says what you want it to say and it goes where you want it to go, your booking page or your phone.
  • Your Instagram and your Facebook. Beside the button, one tap each.
  • Everything in the full listing. Your words curated, your phrases, your lit door. Nothing you already have goes away.

Wherever your card is drawn, the photograph is drawn with it: the island guide pages and the directory.

Before you go

Several of these bake to order rather than from a shelf, so the lead time matters more than the opening hours. Ask a day or two ahead for anything specific.

The ones with a counter sell what they baked that morning and stop when it runs out, which is usually before they close.

Bakeries on the island
